Yes. Here’s how it actually works and what custom means in practice.
What Custom Means
Custom cutting boards come down to two things — the board itself and what goes on it.
The board is the blank. Species, size, and shape. We carry Canadian maple, cherry, and walnut in multiple sizes and shapes. You pick what works for your application — the species that fits your budget and aesthetic, the size that makes sense for what you’re making or gifting, the shape from the range we carry.
What goes on it is the engraving. Logo, name, date, design, address, monogram — whatever fits the board and the purpose. A realtor putting their logo and contact info on a closing gift. A wedding planner ordering 80 boards engraved with a couple’s names and date. A corporate gifting buyer running a holiday program with company branding on every board. That’s all custom work.
How the Engraving Works
We don’t engrave in-house. We supply the blanks.
Boards ship to you — or directly to your engraver — and the engraving gets done there. We work with laser engravers who handle exactly this kind of order regularly. They know how to run a batch of 50 or 100 branded boards consistently, what file formats they need, and how to turn a production order around on a reasonable timeline. We can connect you if you need it, or you bring the boards to your own person.
Canadian hardwood takes laser engraving well. Maple gives the sharpest contrast — logo comes out clean and dark against light wood. Walnut gives a more subtle premium result. Cherry sits between the two. Right choice depends on what the finished piece needs to look like.
Check the laser engravers page for more on what engravers look for in a blank before they run a job.

What It Costs
Depends on species, size, quantity, and whether you need us to connect you with an engraver.
Per-board cost goes down as quantity goes up. A run of 100 branded boards costs significantly less per unit than a run of 50. If you’re running a corporate program or a large event, ordering more upfront almost always makes the numbers work better than ordering the minimum and restocking later.
