Canadian hardwood cutting boards. Unfinished or lightly finished. Flat, kiln-dried, consistent thickness. Ready to go straight under your laser.

We’ve been supplying laser engravers across Canada since 2016. Maple, cherry, and walnut — all three species, all available in bulk. Minimum 24 boards per SKU.

Why Laser Engravers Buy from Us

Honestly the main reason is prep time. Our boards come flat, sanded, and ready. Pull them out of the box and they go straight under the laser. No jointing, no planing, no drum sanding just to get a consistent surface before you even start.

Everything is kiln-dried. That’s not a small detail — wood with too much moisture burns light and uneven no matter what your settings are. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that’s one of the first things engravers complain about when they switch suppliers.

Unfinished or lightly finished — your call. Most laser engravers want unfinished. Engrave first, oil after. If you’re not sure which works better for your setup, our guide on the best wood for laser engraving covers it.

Wood Species

Hard Maple

The most popular species for laser engraving. Pale, near-white surface gives you maximum contrast — the burn goes dark brown against a light background. Sharp text, clean logos, detailed photos. Consistent results at volume. If you’re building a product line, start here.

Cherry

Warm reddish-brown tone. Burns rich and elegant rather than stark. Clients who see a finished cherry board tend to reach for their wallet faster than with maple. Great for premium custom pieces and high-end gifting. Slightly more character variation between boards than maple — worth knowing if you’re doing large uniform batches.

Walnut

Dark, chocolatey brown. The most impressive-looking finished product of the three. Needs bold designs and deeper burns to read clearly against the dark background. Higher price point — commands higher retail. Not the easiest species to start with, but once you’ve got it dialed in the results are hard to beat.

Popular Sizes for Laser Engravers

These are the sizes our laser engraving customers order most. All 3/4″ thick unless noted.

Small — Great for Gifts and Lower-Cost Entry Points

WCB-343 — 3/4″ x 5″ x 10″ — $8.80 — Meat and cheese board. Small, clean surface. Good for testing designs and lower price point retail.

WCB-1300 — 3/4″ x 8″ x 10″ — $10.45 — Wedding favor size. One of our most popular laser engraving blanks. Perfect surface area for names, dates, logos.

WCB-306 — 3/4″ x 10″ x 10″ — $10.90 — Small square carving board. Works well for monograms and compact designs.

Medium — The Workhorse Sizes

WCB-107 — 3/4″ x 8″ x 12″ — $12.50 — Clean rectangular maple board. Fits most laser beds. Reliable blank for standard custom orders.

WCB-302 — 3/4″ x 10″ x 14″ — $14.25 — Good mid-size surface. Plenty of room for detailed designs or photo engravings.

Paddle and Handle Boards

WCB-326 — 3/4″ x 6″ x 20″ — $13.00 — Longer paddle board. Good for horizontal layouts and extended text engravings.

WCB-016-2 — 3/4″ x 10″ x 16″ — $17.20 — Larger paddle with handle. Premium look, strong surface area. Good for detailed work.

Large Format

How Ordering Works

Minimum is 24 boards per SKU. Species and size together make a SKU — so 24 maple WCB-305 and 24 walnut WCB-107 is two minimums, not one.

Specify unfinished or lightly finished when you request the quote. We ship across Canada. Lead times vary by species and volume — we confirm that when you reach out.

Never ordered from us before? Mention a sample pack in your quote request. Better to test a few boards before committing to a full run.
